Water helps control your temperature, keeps your joints comfortable and helps your kidneys clear waste. When you do not drink enough you may feel tired, get headaches or find it hard to concentrate.
Easy ways to drink more
- Keep a bottle of water with you during the day.
- Have a glass of water with every meal.
- Eat water-rich fruit such as watermelon and oranges.
- Drink more when it is hot, when you exercise or if you have a fever.
Pale yellow urine is a good sign you are drinking enough. If you have diarrhoea or vomiting, ask us about oral rehydration salts — they replace the salts your body loses.
